The Importance of Replacing Lost TeethTooth loss is familiar to any adult. As a child, we all experienced that first wiggly tooth. Then came the tampering, and then came that first tooth. It's typically a treasured memory, and if you received a visit by the tooth fairy, the better. The time spanning from childhood to adulthood is a time filled wear and tear to the teeth, and over time circumstances can lead to the loss of adult teeth, important teeth that will need us to replace them.

Why Replacing Teeth is Important

The teeth are structural and functional everyday components of our face. While we smile and laugh, or talk and eat, we see a lot of use from our mouth and teeth. It is important to properly take care of this aspect of our health. Given that those bony spikey pearls that we call teeth sit within our skull, the body does not particularly respond well to losing teeth as an adult.

The body thrives off of efficiency, and supplying bone material for an empty slot betrays that philosophy. In turn, the body cuts off any new promotion of bone material, causing the face to slowly misshape or sag due to the sinking in of filling the gaps. Relating to gaps is orthodontic work. Any treatment one has received can quickly lead to neglect and ignoring the treated site, leading to poorer alignment. Poorer alignment could mean poorer cleaning, changed speaking, or general discomfort especially while eating.

Replacing teeth mitigates all the earlier mentioned effects by simply replacing the formerly lost tooth and registering an all systems normal of sorts with the bone tissue around it.
